Wuxiaworld Terms of Use

1. Introduction and Acceptance of the Terms of Use

Welcome to Wuxiaworld! These Terms of Use (the "Terms") form a legal agreement between you ("you" or "User") and Wuxiaworld Limited ("Wuxiaworld", "we", "us", or "our"), the operator of the Wuxiaworld website located at https://www.wuxiaworld.com (the "Website") and its official mobile applications (“Mobile App(s)”) (collectively, the "Platform").

Please read these Terms carefully before using the Platform.

By accessing or using any part of the Platform (including reading content, posting comments, or making purchases), you agree to be bound by these Terms and by any additional rules and guidelines we post (such as forum or comment guidelines). You also acknowledge our Privacy Policy (which explains how we collect and use your information), incorporated herein by reference and is available at https://www.wuxiaworld.com/privacy-policy. If you do not agree, you must discontinue the use of the Platform immediately.

These Terms apply to all Users of the Platform, including both unregistered visitors and registered account holders. If you are using our Mobile App you must also comply with the terms and conditions of any applicable app store ; however, these Terms govern your relationship with Wuxiaworld. If you are using the Platform on behalf of a company or other entity, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind such entity to these Terms, in which case "you" will refer to such entity as well.

Notwithstanding any provisions herein, nothing in these Terms shall affect your statutory rights as a consumer under applicable local law, including any rights under EU or U.S. consumer protection law.

2. Changes to these Terms

Wuxiaworld may modify or update these Terms from time to time. We reserve the right to change these Terms at any time, for example to address new features or legal requirements. If we make material changes, we will notify Users by posting the updated Terms on the Website and/or the Platform at least thirty (30) days before the updated Terms go into effect (with the Effective Date above updated accordingly). In some cases, we may also notify you via email or in-app notification. The latest version of these Terms will always be available on the Platform.

Your Responsibility to Review: You should review these Terms periodically. Continued use of the Platform after updated Terms are posted (and effective) constitutes your acceptance of those changes. If you do not agree to any revised Terms, you should stop using the Platform and, if applicable, cancel your subscriptions and terminate your account before the Effective Date specified in such revised Terms. Except as expressly stated by us, any new features or services that we add to the Platform will also be subject to these Terms. We will not make changes to these Terms that materially reduce your legal rights without taking appropriate measures to inform you. However, minor updates or changes due to law will take effect immediately upon posting. By continuing to use the Platform, you agree to the then-current Terms.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, any material changes that affect your statutory consumer rights will be communicated to you via email or in-app notification at least thirty (30) days before they go into effect.

3. Account Registration and User Responsibilities

Eligibility:

To access certain features (such as posting comments, bookmarking novels, or making purchases), you may need to create a Wuxiaworld account. You must be at least thirteen (13) years of age (or the minimum digital age of consent in your country, if higher) to create an account. If you are under the age of majority (typically under eighteen (18)), you may use the Platform only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. By registering an account, you represent that you meet the applicable age requirements and that all information you provide is truthful and accurate. We reserve the right to ask for proof of your age or consent if needed.

Account Creation:

When creating an account, you must provide a valid email address and (if applicable) create a username and password. Alternatively, you may register or log in using a supported third-party account (such as Google, Apple, or Facebook). You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information updated.

You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your login credentials (including your username and password, if applicable) and for preventing any third party from accessing your account. Do not share your login credentials with anyone. You are solely responsible for all activities that occur under your account, whether or not you authorized them. If you believe someone has accessed your account without your permission, you must notify us immediately through our support channels.

Account Security:

You agree to use a strong, unique password for your Platform account and to take appropriate steps to protect your account (especially when using a public or shared device). Wuxiaworld will never ask you for your password via email or unsolicited communication. In the event of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security, you must contact us immediately.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Wuxiaworld is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with these requirements, or for any unauthorized use of your account, regardless of whether you notify us, except where such liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.

One Account Per User:

Each User must register only one account. Creating multiple accounts to abuse promotions, earn extra rewards, or circumvent restrictions is prohibited. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any duplicate or fraudulent accounts (see Section 12 below). You may not transfer your account to any other person or entity. Accounts are personal to the registrant.

Accurate Information:

You must provide accurate and truthful information when creating your account and keep it up-to-date (for example, if your email address changes, update it promptly). Misrepresenting your identity (for example, using another person's name or email without authorization) is prohibited. If we discover that any information provided is false or misleading, we may suspend or terminate the account (see Section 12 below).

Parental Responsibility:

If you are a parent or legal guardian allowing a minor to use the Platform, you agree to supervise the minor's use, assume all risks associated, and accept responsibility for the minor's compliance with these Terms. Certain content on the Platform may contain mature themes not suitable for young audiences; it is the responsibility of the parent/legal guardian to monitor and decide what is appropriate for the minor.

4. User Conduct and Content Guidelines

To maintain a friendly and lawful community, the User Conduct and Content Guidelines under this Section 4 form an integral part of these Terms. By using the Platform, you agree to behave responsibly and respect other users, authors, translators, and other members of our team, as well as our Platform. You are solely responsible for any content (such as comments, forum posts, or other material) that you post or transmit on the Platform. When engaging with the Platform, you must not:

- Break Laws: Do not use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any local, state, national, or international laws or regulations. This includes not posting or sharing material related to criminal activity, illegal content, or any other activity prohibited by law.

- Infringe Upon Others’ Rights: Do not upload or share content that violates the intellectual property rights or other rights of a third party. For example, do not post copyrighted text or images that you do not have permission to share. Likewise, do not distribute and reproduce illegal or infringing content, including but not limited to unauthorized copies of our novels or any other copyrighted material.

- Harass or Harm Others: Do not post content that is harassing, threatening, bullying, or encourages violence or self-harm. Hate speech, slurs, or any content that attacks or demeans a person or group on the basis of race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or disability is strictly forbidden. We want all readers to feel welcome.

- Post Obscene or Offensive Content: Refrain from sharing pornographic material, extremely graphic violence, or any content that is overly obscene. Mild mature discussions related to our novel content are allowed, but explicit sexual or violent content outside the context of the novels (or illegal sexual content involving minors, which is absolutely prohibited) is not allowed in User posts.

- Spam or Advertise: Do not use the Platform to spam others with repetitive or off-topic messages. Unsolicited advertising, promotional materials, or junk content (including posting the same comment repeatedly, or posting self-promotion unrelated to Wuxiaworld's content) is not allowed. This includes schemes to drive traffic to third-party sites or any form of solicitation without our prior written permission.

- Impersonate or Mislead: Do not impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation with someone. You should not pretend to be a Wuxiaworld staff member, another user, author, translator, or anyone else. Misleading usernames or profiles intended to deceive others are not allowed.

- Disrupt the Community: Do not intentionally disrupt discussions or the reading experience for others. This includes posting story spoilers without warning (whether or not something constitutes a story spoiler is determined by Wuxiaworld at its sole discretion), deliberately provoking other users, or engaging in any other kind of purposefully disruptive behavior. Healthy discussion and debate are allowed. Personal attacks or deliberately sowing discord are not.

User-Generated Content:

Any content you post on the Platform (such as comments on chapters, forum posts, reviews, etc.) should comply with the above guidelines. You retain ownership of the original content you create, but by posting it on our Platform, you grant Wuxiaworld a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free and, to the extent permitted by applicable law, perpetual and irrevocable license to use, reproduce, modify, translate, distribute, display, publicly perform, and create derivative works from such content in connection with our services.

This license allows us to show your comments to other readers, moderate them, and include them in any features of our site or marketing (for example, showcasing community reactions), without further permission from you. We will not claim ownership of your personal creations (for example, fan art you post remains yours), but you give us permission to display and share them as part of the Platform.

By posting any content, you represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights and authority to grant this license. If you do not have the right to grant this license for any content you post, you must not post it. To the extent permitted by law, you waive any moral rights in connection with your contributions.

No Rights to Offensive Content:

Wuxiaworld does not pre-screen user content, but we (and our moderators) reserve the right, and may have the obligation under applicable law, to monitor, screen, edit, or remove any user-posted content at our discretion or as required by applicable law. We may remove any content that violates these Terms, our guidelines, or that we otherwise find objectionable. We may also suspend or terminate accounts for serious or repeated violations (see Section 12 below). The person posting is ultimately responsible for their content. Wuxiaworld disclaims responsibility or liability for content posted by Users, except as required by applicable law. Such content does not necessarily reflect our views.

Reporting:

If you encounter any content or user behavior that you believe violates these Terms or our guidelines, or is otherwise inappropriate, please contact our support. We will review reports and take action as necessary. Abuse of the report system (such as false reports) is also considered a violation of these Terms.

By participating in the Wuxiaworld community, you agree to be respectful and to comply with the User Conduct and Content Guidelines. Failure to do so can result in warnings, removal of content, or more severe actions such as account suspension or termination (see Section 12 below). We aim to foster a positive community, and your cooperation is essential.

5. Intellectual Property and Content Ownership

Wuxiaworld Content:

The Platform and all content made available through it (except for user-generated content) are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. This includes, but is not limited to, the English-translated novels and chapters, the website and app design, text, graphics, logos, button icons, images, audio clips, software code, and the compilation and arrangement of such content. Unless otherwise indicated, all such content is the property of Wuxiaworld or its licensors (for example, the original authors or publishing partners from whom Wuxiaworld has licensed the translation rights) and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws. Wuxiaworld holds rights, either through ownership or by license (which may be exclusive or non-exclusive), to the translations and to the Platform’s presentation of these works.

Trademarks:

The name “Wuxiaworld Limited”, “Wuxiaworld”, our logo, and any other product or service names or slogans displayed on the Platform are trademarks or registered trademarks of Wuxiaworld Limited or its affiliates in the U.S., Hong Kong, and all applicable jurisdictions. You may not use any Wuxiaworld trademarks or trade dress (including logos, graphics, or names) without our prior written permission. All other trademarks on the Platform that do not belong to Wuxiaworld are the property of their respective owners (for example, names of novels might be trademarks of original publishers).

Limited License for Personal Use:

Wuxiaworld grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Platform and its content for your personal, non-commercial use only, and only as expressly permitted by these Terms. This means you may read the novels and view content for your own entertainment and information. You may temporarily download or cache one copy per device of pages within the official app or browser, but you may not distribute such copy to others. This license does not transfer any ownership or intellectual property rights to you – it simply allows you to enjoy our content in accordance with these Terms.

Prohibited Uses of Content:

Except as explicitly allowed by these Terms or by fair use under applicable law, you must not:

- Reproduce or Distribute: Copy, reproduce, distribute, publicly display, or publicly perform any content from the Platform without our prior written consent. This includes no publishing of our translated chapters on other websites or platforms, and no sharing of full text in a public forum. Sharing brief excerpts with attribution for discussion or review may be considered fair use, provided no profit is derived, but wholesale copying is not permitted.

- Modify or Derive: Modify, translate, adapt, or create derivative works based upon any content from the Platform without prior written permission.

- Commercial Use: Use any content from the Platform for commercial purposes unless you have a separate written agreement with us.

- Remove Notices: Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices on the Platform's content.

- Reverse Engineer or Exploit: Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any of our software or technology, nor attempt to extract the source code of any part of the Platform, including the Website or Mobile Apps.

- Circumvent Technical Measures: Circumvent, remove, or tamper with any digital rights management (DRM) or technical protection measures applied to the content or the Platform.

- Automated Access/Extraction: Use any robot, bot, scraper, crawler, or other automated means to access or extract content from the Platform except as expressly permitted.

- Downloading Content: Aside from any official download features we provide (such as offline reading within the Mobile Apps, or downloadable e-book files for purchase), do not download the novels or other content for any purpose other than temporary personal viewing.

- AI/ML Use: Use the Platform content to develop, train, or improve artificial intelligence or machine learning models without our prior written consent.

User Content License to Wuxiaworld:

Rights, licenses, and obligations related to content submitted and posted by Users are governed by Section 4 (User Conduct and Content Guidelines).

No Other Rights:

Except for the limited license granted to you above, no other rights or licenses (under any intellectual property, copyright, trademark, patent, or other rights) are granted to you by implication or otherwise. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved by Wuxiaworld, its affiliates, and its licensors.

Reporting Infringement:

If you believe that any content on the Platform infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, please contact us at contactus@wuxiaworld.com with the necessary details. If you are notifying us under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), please provide a written notice that includes all necessary information. We will respond to legitimate notices and, if appropriate, remove or disable access to the infringing content. We may also terminate the accounts of repeat infringers when applicable.

6. Access and Use Restrictions

Use Restrictions:

Wuxiaworld strives to provide a smooth and secure reading experience. In using our Platform, you agree to comply with certain technical and usage restrictions designed to protect our services and community. You must only use the Platform as intended and refrain from any activities that could harm us or other Users, or that violate the integrity of the Platform. In particular, you agree not to:

- Interfere with the Platform: Do not interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Platform. This means you will not attempt to flood the site with requests, launch any form of denial-of-service attack, or otherwise burden our servers in an unreasonable way. You must also not use any device, software, or routine that interferes with the proper operation of the Website or Mobile Apps (such as injecting malicious code or automated scripts that slow down the service).

- Bypass Access Controls: Do not attempt to circumvent any access controls or limitations that we have placed on the Platform. Our Platform may employ measures like login requirements, content locks (for example, chapters that require waiting or payment), or API rate limiting. You agree not to bypass these measures. For example, you should not use unauthorized methods to unlock paid chapters without payment, nor use multiple accounts or VPNs to gain unfair advantages (like extra daily rewards beyond what one user is allowed).

- Automated Data Collection: Do not use any robot, spider, scraper, crawler, or any automated means to access or extract data from Wuxiaworld without our prior written permission. The only exception is public search engine indexing for the purpose of search (in accordance with our robots.txt file). Any other automated reading or downloading of our content (for instance, to create an archive) is prohibited. This is to protect our intellectual property and ensure fair access for all Users.

- Unauthorized Access: Do not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Platform, such as other Users' accounts, our servers, or databases. This includes hacking, password mining, or any other illegitimate means of accessing data or features not intended for you. Attempting to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems or breach our security or authentication measures, is strictly prohibited and it is deemed a violation of these Terms, and may also violate the applicable law.

- Introduce Harmful Code: You must not attempt to upload, transmit, or distribute any viruses, worms, trojans, or other malicious code through the Platform. We work hard to keep the Platform safe; we expect Users not to undermine the safety.

- Frame or Mirror: You may not frame, mirror, or reproduce the appearance of the Website. For example, you should not create a separate website that looks like our Website and display our content through it. Also, you should not use techniques to embed any part of our Platform within another website or app without our prior written permission.

- Misuse Services: Do not use the Platform for any purpose that is not expressly permitted by these Terms. This includes not using any part of the Platform to develop or improve a competing service. You should also refrain from any activity that could manipulate or impair the integrity of any system features — for instance, do not abuse any reward systems or promotions in a manner not intended (such as using bots to collect daily login rewards).

We reserve the right to monitor the Platform for compliance with these Terms. If we detect violations of these Access and Use restrictions, we may take action including issuing warnings, suspending or terminating accounts (see Section 12), or employing technical measures to block offending activities (for example, blocking an IP address or user agent engaging in scraping). In serious cases, we may involve law enforcement or pursue legal action.

Service Modifications:

Wuxiaworld may at any time, without notice, modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Platform (such as introducing new features, or removing or limiting existing features). We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification or suspension of the service. We will try to provide advance notice for significant changes when feasible, but this may not always be possible.

Device and Connection:

You are responsible for obtaining and maintaining any equipment or auxiliary services needed to connect to and use the Platform (such as internet connections, compatible hardware or software, etc.). We cannot guarantee that the Platform will function on all devices or under all conditions (for example, older browsers or very low-bandwidth connections may not support our Platform). By adhering to these restrictions, you help ensure Wuxiaworld remains accessible and fair for everyone.

7. Paid Services and Subscriptions

Wuxiaworld offers optional services that enhance the reading experience or provide access to locked content for a fee (the “Paid Services”). These may include the purchase of virtual currency, subscription plans (such as VIP Memberships or novel-specific ‘Champion’ subscriptions), or one-time digital content purchases (such as complete e-books or bulk chapter unlocks). By making a purchase on the Platform, you agree to the following terms:

Locked Content and Unlocking:

Certain digital content on the Platform (such as novel chapters or e-books) may be designated as “locked” and require payment or other means in order to access (“unlock”). Unlocking means you are granted a license to access the locked content with your account subject to the following:

- Permanent Unlock: If content is unlocked using virtual currency acquired directly through monetary payment, or a one-time paid purchase (including the corresponding e-book on the Platform, or permanent access bundles), your license to access the unlocked content is permanent (for as long as the content remains available on the Platform and your account is active and in good standing), except in cases of refund, chargeback, or as otherwise required by applicable law or these Terms.

- Temporary or Revocable Unlock: If content is unlocked using virtual currency not acquired directly through monetary payment, subscription access, or other rewards not obtained through direct monetary payment, your access to the unlocked content is temporary and may be revoked, limited, or expire at Wuxiaworld’s discretion (for example, if your subscription ends, your Promotional Virtual Currency expires, or in accordance with these Terms).

If your account is terminated, or if the content is removed from the Platform due to legal, licensing, or policy reasons, you may lose access to previously unlocked content in accordance with these Terms.

Pricing and Payment:

- All prices for the Paid Services are displayed in a designated currency (such as U.S. Dollars or Euros) The price you see at checkout is the total amount you will be charged for the service, unless otherwise indicated at the point of purchase. We strive to clearly present the cost of any service before you commit to purchase, including any applicable taxes or fees where required by law.

- When you initiate a purchase, you must select a valid payment method.

- Wuxiaworld does not store your full credit card details on our servers; financial transactions on the Platform are processed securely through secure third parties, such as Stripe, Braintree, or App Store/Google Play billing to handle transactions. These transactions use industry-standard security measures to protect your payment information.

- If the payment is a recurring subscription, you authorize Wuxiaworld to charge your payment method automatically at the disclosed interval (for example, monthly) until you cancel. Any transactions processed through a third-party processor shall be handled in accordance with the policies of each payment processor.

- You are responsible for any fees that your bank, payment institution, or payment service provider may charge in connection with the payment.

Virtual Currency

- Wuxiaworld may offer virtual credits or tokens on the Platform (collectively, “Virtual Currency”), including but not limited to “Golden Karma”, “Earned Karma”, “Site Credits”, and “Cultivation Keys”, that facilitate access to certain digital content.

(a) Golden Karma is the sole premium virtual currency available for acquisition through monetary means (“Purchased Golden Karma”).

(b) Golden Karma awarded through giveaways, events, or other non-monetary promotions (“Promotional Golden Karma”), as well as Earned Karma, Site Credits, Cultivation Keys, and any similar reward instruments (collectively, “Promotional Virtual Currency”) are granted solely as a result of user engagement, participation, or other designated activities on the Platform and are not available for purchase by any monetary means.

- All Virtual Currency acquired or awarded remain subject to the limited, non-transferable, and revocable license granted herein and shall not confer any rights of ownership or monetary value beyond their usage within the Platform. Promotional Virtual Currency is revocable at our discretion as outlined below; Purchased Golden Karma is not revocable or subject to expiration except as expressly provided herein or required by applicable law.

- Wuxiaworld may regulate, manage, modify, or discontinue Virtual Currency at any time, provided that doing so will not diminish the value of any unused Purchased Golden Karma without offering an equivalent remedy as required by applicable law.

- No Transfers or Outside Trade: You may not transfer Virtual Currency between accounts, unless and until an official gifting mechanism is made available, or between our Platform and any other platform. Buying, selling, or trading Virtual Currency outside of the Platform is strictly prohibited.

- Usage and Expiration: Virtual Currency can be redeemed within the Platform for designated content or benefits (for example, unlocking a locked chapter will deduct a specified number of Cultivation Keys). We reserve the right to adjust the value, usage rules, or availability of Virtual Currency and the content it can be exchanged for. Promotional Virtual Currency may be subject to expiration, usage limitations, or revocation at Wuxiaworld’s sole discretion. Purchased Golden Karma will not expire or be revoked, except as required by applicable law or as expressly provided in these Terms (such as for account inactivity over an extended period, fraud, or other legal reasons). In the event of any expiration or revocation of Purchased Golden Karma for reasons other than fraud or legal breach of these Terms, Wuxiaworld will notify Users, comply with all applicable laws, and provide any remedy required by applicable law.

- No Refunds on Virtual Currency: Purchases of Virtual Currency are typically non-refundable, except where required by applicable law or at our discretion (for example, if there was a technical issue with the purchase). Once you have redeemed Virtual Currency for content, the transaction is final. If you believe there has been an error with a Virtual Currency purchase or redemption (such as being charged but not receiving the Virtual Currency, or spending Virtual Currency and not getting the content), contact our support and we will investigate and, if warranted, correct the error (either by delivering the content, crediting your account, or issuing a refund in our discretion).

- Adjustment and Removal: We reserve the right to reduce, liquidate, deactivate, reset, or suspend your Virtual Currency balance if we believe you have violated these Terms, or in order to protect the integrity of our system (for example, if we suspect fraud or manipulation of the currency system). We may also perform conversions or exchanges of one type of Virtual Currency for another as our system evolves (for instance, if we replace Earned Karma with Keys, we might convert remaining balances to the new system at a stated rate). We will endeavor to preserve your paid value in any such transition.

Champion Subscriptions:

Wuxiaworld may offer subscription services, such as a "Champion" subscription tied to a specific ongoing novel. Before completing your subscription purchase, all applicable terms including the cost, renewal frequency, billing method, and cancellation policy will be clearly disclosed to you. You must review and agree to these terms in order to proceed with your subscription. When you subscribe:

- Recurring Billing and Renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle (for example, monthly or annually) unless you cancel beforehand. Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled by you. To comply with various legal requirements while respecting your experience:

1. We will always notify you of any changes to your subscription terms, pricing, or renewal date.
2. For monthly subscriptions, renewal information will be available in your account dashboard and we will not send routine reminders for each monthly renewal.

You can view your next renewal date and manage your subscription at any time in your account settings.

- Access to Content: As a Champion subscriber, you gain access to all published chapters of the novel, and, depending on your subscription tier, a certain number of “Advance Chapters” (chapters that have been translated and uploaded but are not yet publicly released) may be available. Access to chapters (both published and Advance Chapters) is provided only during the active subscription period as part of the subscription benefits. Furthermore, accessing the full content of any Advance Chapter while your subscription is active will constitute permanent unlocking of that chapter for your account. This permanent unlock is one of the benefits of your subscription. Even if your subscription later expires or is canceled, the unlocked Advance Chapters will remain permanently unlocked for your account, subject to the general terms governing unlocked content in these Terms.

- How to Cancel: You can cancel your subscription at any time through any of the following methods:

1. Website: Log into your account, go to 'Subscription Settings,' and click the clearly labeled 'Cancel Subscription' button. Follow the simple on-screen instructions to complete cancellation.
2. Mobile App: For subscriptions purchased through our app, you can cancel directly through your app store account settings:

   - For Apple App Store: Open Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > Wuxiaworld > Cancel
   - For Google Play: Open Play Store > Profile > Payments & Subscriptions > Subscriptions > Wuxiaworld > Cancel

3. Customer Support: Contact our support team through the 'Help' section of our website or app.

Please note: For subscriptions purchased via the Apple App Store or Google Play, cancellation must be completed directly through the respective platform.

Wuxiaworld does not have the ability to cancel or manage these subscriptions on your behalf.

Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to your subscription benefits until the end of the current billing period. We will send you a confirmation email once your cancellation is processed. Except to the extent otherwise required by applicable law (such as local consumer protection laws), these Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or related to them or the use of the Platform will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (“Hong Kong”). The governing law applies without regard to its conflict of law principles, meaning we apply Hong Kong law even if there are conflicts between laws of different jurisdictions. Notwithstanding the foregoing, if you are a consumer in the EU/EEA/UK, you may enforce your rights under local consumer protection laws.

You and Wuxiaworld agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong, except where applicable law in your country of residence grants you the right to bring legal proceedings in your local courts. In particular, if you are a consumer in the EU/EEA/UK, you may choose to bring a claim in either the courts of your home country or in Hong Kong.

Time Limits:

To the extent permitted by applicable law, any claim or cause of action arising out of or related to these Terms or the use of the Platform must be commenced within one (1) year after the claim accrues; otherwise, such claim is permanently barred.

Class Action Waiver:

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you and Wuxiaworld agree that each may bring claims against the other only in an individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative proceeding. If this waiver is found to be unenforceable in your jurisdiction under the applicable law, this entire paragraph will be null and void.

12. Termination of Use

Voluntary Termination by You:

You are free to stop using Wuxiaworld at any time. If you wish to terminate your account, you may do so by contacting our customer support or using any account deletion function we provide (if available in your account settings). Account termination will remove access to your account and to any account-specific content or benefits. Note that termination is irreversible—if you later wish to return to Wuxiaworld, you will need to create a new account. If you simply stop using your account without official termination, your account will remain active unless you request termination or as otherwise required by applicable law or for operational reasons.

If you cancel a paid subscription as part of terminating your use, the cancellation terms in the Paid Services section above apply (i.e., you may retain access until the billing period ends, but it will not renew). No refunds will be provided for any unused Virtual Currency or remaining subscription period unless required by applicable law or explicitly stated in these Terms. It is advisable to use up any purchased virtual credits before terminating your account, as you will lose access to them after termination.

Termination or Suspension by Wuxiaworld:

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Platform (or certain features of the Platform) at our sole discretion, for any reason or no reason, with or without notice. This may include situations where we believe that you have violated these Terms or any applicable law, or if we discontinue the Platform or experience unexpected technical or security issues. In most cases of minor violations, we will attempt to warn or notify you and may give you an opportunity to correct the violations. However, serious violations (such as attempts to hack our system, fraud, or other harmful activities) may result in immediate termination or suspension without warning. Termination by us may include disabling your account, or in serious cases, blocking access by any technical means available (such as device, IP address, or other identifiers) to prevent unauthorized or repeat access to the Platform. If we suspend or terminate for a violation of these Terms or unlawful conduct, you will not be entitled to any refunds of fees paid or unused services (to the extent permitted by law).

If your account is suspended, you may contact customer support to inquire about the reason for suspension or the process for reinstatement. Serious or repeated violations may result in permanent termination of your account as outlined above.

Effect of Termination:

Upon termination of these Terms (whether by you or by us), all rights and licenses granted to you will immediately cease. You must discontinue all use of the Platform and its content. Any downloaded content (if provided for offline use) should be deleted or destroyed. We may delete any data associated with your account (such as your bookmarks, comments, or profile information); however, non-personally identifiable data (like generic usage statistics or anonymized posts) may be retained. Force Majeure:
