Hello again, everyone! I’m Wey, formerly known as pandapear98. Thank you to those of you who have been reading my novels since Unintended Immortality and Just a Daoist Who Occasionally Kicks Ass! That said, I hope you’ll enjoy this novel, Chosen: Beyond Fate. It’s quite different from my previous two works; it’s a very funny action-packed novel set in a modern world. Tho, no xianxia this time, but I promise you you won’t be disappointed! ^^
Let me explain my style of translation. For this novel specifically, it contains a lot of puns/jokes/sexual euphemism. I try my best to come up with an English equivalent (which is really not as easy as it sounds lol), though that also means that I have to be very creative with the jokes/puns instead of a direct translation. For certain Chinese sayings, I found that a majority of the readers prefer them to be translated literally with a footnote to explain them (as per a poll done by Deathblade previously), so if there’s no direct English equivalent I’ll translate them literally.
I generally avoid localizing/Westernizing things like names or terms that are generally specific to Chinese culture. Different from my other novels, this novel is set in the modern era, so I do localize/translate location/organization names to fit the modern setting. Do note that there are certain names that sound foreign in Chinese, and hence I translate those into foreign-sounding names instead of transliterating them.
Names aside, I don’t prefer transliterations as they often sound awkward or unnatural in English. Translation is about conveying the meaning into English, so I will tweak or amend sentences as necessary to read better in English while preserving its meaning as much as possible.
Besides, I will also provide commentary and explanation for the names of major characters from the perspective of a native Chinese to the best of my abilities. Since most names will be a transliteration instead of a localized one, I would like to provide better context and understanding to you readers as you read the novel. However, these are all my own subjective opinions, and should not be taken as objective fact (unless stated otherwise).
Chinese authors also tend to repeat things unnecessarily, so I will condense and cut out redundant content that adds nothing to the story whatsoever to enhance your reading experience. Of course, my job here isn’t just to translate, but also make sure that you have an enjoyable time reading.

Synopsis
A flash of purple light and a fleeting glimpse of some mysterious runes. That was the last thing that Chu Qiguang saw before he found himself reborn as a poor farmer in an alternate world.
Gone are the riches and luxuries of his life on Earth, replaced by the trials and tribulations faced by a farmer in a world reminiscent of feudal-era China. Barely able to get by, Chu Qiguang is plunged into a state of despair, but he’s saved by one thing: his love for cats!
Armed with his love for cats and his newfound aptitude for cultivation, Chu Qiguang now has the power to change his own fate, but he still faces a steep, uphill battle as he strives to climb his way up the social ladder and return to his life on Earth.

Hey everyone, I’m John, the translator of Scripture of Days Past. I started reading Chinese webnovels quite early on with titles like the first instalment of Soul Land, but even before then, I always had a penchant for reading wuxia novels. Never did I think I would be able to make a career out of this, but I suppose fate works in interesting ways, as is often the case in the stories that we read.
Some of you may have read or heard of the past projects I’ve worked on, such as Soul Land 3, RMJI, and Yama Rising, which I took on midway, as well as RMJI 2 and Unsheathed, which I’ve been fortunate enough to work on from the very beginning. With the recent completion of RMJI 2, I will now be embarking on a new journey in the form of Scripture of Days Past, a journey that I’m very pleased to be sharing with you all.
Scripture of Days Past is, at its core, a story about transmigration and cultivation, but has some unique tricks up its sleeve to ensure an engaging read. Set in a world very similar to Qing-Dynasty China, the main character is taken out of his cushy life on Earth and transformed into an impoverished, adolescent farmer in what is essentially ancient China, except there’s a supernatural twist. He must now climb his way up the social ladder if he wishes for a better life and to have any chance of returning to Earth.

I asked Lucas, our Chinese licensing manager, about the novel's author, and this is what he said:
The author of this work is Bear Wolf Dog, a Great God author on Qidian. He is also the author of the currently hugely popular No Money to Cultivate Immortality?. Chinese readers consider his promotion to Platinum author this year all but a done deal.
This author has an extraordinarily imaginative mind — nearly every one of his books is built upon a fresh, eye-opening premise. At the same time, his works blend a heavy dose of dark humor with real-world issues, making readers laugh while also giving them plenty to think about.
Additionally, although his pen name doesn't contain the word "cat," he is in fact a devoted cat lover in real life. He feeds many cats and frequently shares photos of them. Back in 2017, he even wrote a novel themed around "cats with superpowers." In this work, Scripture of Days Past, the protagonist likewise has an adorable cat that serves as his companion, his mentor, and — well, I won't spoil the rest.

Hi everyone,
Our final novel for April is Destiny in Cinders! It's being brought to you by Ryogawa and Eden, who you might know from their work on Beastmaster of the Ages. Here's a synopsis for the novel, followed by their intros.
Synopsis
First, An Jing sold himself to a demonic cult for medicine to heal his mother. Then, he found an unlikely ally: a disembodied voice coming from within a rusty sword. The demonic cult was up to something, but neither of them quite knew what.
Well, it's not like the dynasty of Grand Chen is much better off than the Heavenly Demon Cult anyway, with all the corruption in its ranks. But the cult's plans are far from innocent. They're not raising and training us children of disaster for free. The fragmented memories from his past life had wiped the naivete in him clean for him to know that the demonic cult was not a charity.
Enter a world ravaged by fiends in the distant past and mountains of unending snow in the present, a world of warring nations and sects, the world of Void Embrace. With his sword-soul companion's help, An Jing is able to slip into another world entirely: a world of qi cultivation with advanced technologies and soulless corporations that try to wipe out the competition by any means necessary.
How do I keep getting wrapped up in all this? First, there's the demonic cult in Void Embrace and the ritual that unsealed the heavenly fiends. And just as I was peacefully shopping at a black market in Skysource, a mechanized battalion of cultivator super-soldiers crashed through the concrete above, blasting away at everything with their spirit-beam guns!
Something was truly up with An Jing's celestial lifearc, the destiny which the Heavens had forced upon his story, one that sent sparks flying no matter where he went and what he did. Will he harness the spark and become a beacon of light for the two worlds? Or will a stray spark eventually set him and everything around him alight and leave nothing but smouldering cinders in its wake?

Once upon a time, there was a kid who liked to read light novels. Eventually, someone recommended him to read translated Chinese webnovels. Given that English media was much more accessible from the part of the world he was from, he decided to read the translations instead of going straight to the source and was marveled at the magnificent work the translators had been putting in to bring such diverse and colorful worlds for the non-Chinese speaking public to enjoy!
Yes, this was the story of how I got into webnovels, starting as a Wuxiaworld reader with Coiling Dragon. While I could have been happy being just a reader, something in me just clicked in 2017 when I decided to bring a fan translation of my own to the world like the earliest founders of Wuxiaworld, starting from Tales of the Reincarnated Lord and Black Iron's Glory before moving on to The Sword and the Shadow, and now, Beastmaster of the Ages!

As an introvert, I’ve always found my happiest hiding spots inside the pages of a book! So the second I saw a chance to join this amazing community, I pounced on it! I just really wanted to give back to the world that gave me so much.
It’s been such a fun ride translating novels I never even dreamed I could! Honestly, I still get those silly butterflies and awkward self-doubt feelings just like I did on day one, but seeing you guys enjoy my work puts the biggest, brightest smile on my face every single time!

We're excited to introduce Dragon Canon! It's written by City of Sin author Misty Rain of Jiangnan, from whom we haven't launched a novel since 2017! And it's being translated by XuanHearts (also known as Truth), who is easily one the biggest webnovel fanatics on our team. He really knows what he's talking about, and his intro is below:
Summary
Zhang Sheng, a peerless prodigy, was just going about his business when he accidentally altered the fate of Wei Yuan, a baby boy who had just been born in the Wei estate. Their karmas became permanently bound since, and the master and disciple would eventually go on to change the world.
As the author’s unserious synopsis summarized rather succinctly, this is a novel about an industrial revolution unfolding in a fantasy world. The beginning of the story is pretty medieval with sprinkles of “Huh?” here and there that keeps you intrigued. I really don’t want to spoil anything, but imagine finding a digital watch while living in the Middle Ages. Later, in two hundred chapters or less if memory serves me right, Wei Yuan stumbled upon a source of the weird shit that doesn’t quite belong in his world and opened his eyes to the almighty power of industrialization. After that, it’s “Oh? You’re bringing a sword to a gunfight? How cannon of you!”, baby!

Dragon Canon is a novel written by the famous author, Misty Rain of Jiangnan. Some of you might still remember the work that made him famous on Wuxiaworld, Monarch of Evernight. The extremely brief summary is that it is a cultivation novel with some unexpected twists, kinda like how Cultivation Chat Group features a chat group, or how Who Let Him Cultivate?! Features scientific measurements, so on and so forth. You get the idea.
I’ve read two works from Misty Rain of Jiangnan, Monarch of Evernight and 天阿降临 (loosely translates to Arietis Descends), and frankly, both novels peter off into the “Okay, where the hell do we go from here?” territory eventually. Especially Arietis Descends. Luckily, that’s not the case for Dragon Canon. From the start until the current chapter, there is a strong protagonist motivation that drives basically everything he does. As a reader, you may not always know what is going to happen next, but you’re never lost as to where the story goes from a certain point. It’s a significant improvement from his previous novels and why I strongly believe it deserves a read. That’s all from me.

It's brought to you by longtime Wuxiaworld veteran OMA, whose total chapter count has easily passed 5000. 13 Mink Street's chapters are extra long, so after the initial launch period of publishing four chapters per day until we reach 52, the weekly release rate will be 10 chapters. One per day on Monday to Thursday, and two per day on Friday to Sunday.

Hey everyone, OMA here.
It didn’t really hit me until recently, but this marks my 10th year with Wuxiaworld. For those who may not know me, I’ve previously translated Warlock of the Magus World and City of Sin, and I’m currently working on Star Odyssey, which I’ve been translating for the past six years.
When I first started Star Odyssey, I had no idea it would grow into something of this scale. It’s been a long journey, but I’m excited, and honestly relieved, that we’re finally approaching its conclusion in about two years. Because of that commitment, I held off on taking on another project for a long time.
But this time, I couldn’t.
Warlock of the Magus World was cold ambition.
City of Sin was epic expansion.
Star Odyssey is cosmic magnitude.
13 Mink Street is different. It turns inward, trading spectacle for atmosphere, and grand battles for quiet, unsettling inevitability. It follows a man who steps into a world governed by faith, doctrine, and structured divinity, where gods are acknowledged, rituals are recorded, and power is exercised through procedure rather than chaos.
This is not a loud novel. It doesn’t rely on constant spectacle or explosive progression to keep you turning the page. Instead, it builds slowly, carefully, almost clinically. The atmosphere is deliberate and layered with unease. Institutions, faith, family, duty, everything operates under rules that aren’t always visible, but always felt.
At its core, this is a story about power, morality, and the thin line between justification and cruelty. The tension doesn’t come from who can shout the loudest or strike the hardest, but from what people are willing to rationalize, and how calmly they can do it.
It’s a slow burn. It asks for patience. But if you give it that patience, it rewards you with depth, nuance, and moments that hit harder because they aren’t forced.
Before we begin, I also want to thank my editor, Neshi, who has been with me through the entire journey of Star Odyssey and has committed to walking this new path with me as well. Long projects are never solo efforts, and I’m grateful to have him alongside me again for 13 Mink Street.

As a slice-of-life comedy, it requires a lighter touch, more notes of levity, and a certain liberty of style that differs in many ways from the more serious novels I've worked on in the past. I can only hope I'm up to the challenge.
As a translator, I've largely focused on webnovels (here on Wuxiaworld) and mobile game localization (Nikke and Harry Potter: Magic Awakened among my most notable contributions), though my broader oeuvre includes subtitling, business translation, and software translation. In my spare time, I translate the manga Welcome to the Winners' Circle with a group of friends, read fantasy, and play a bunch of mobile games.
I am fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English, have passing proficiency in Classical Chinese and Spanish, and know just enough Japanese and Latin that it's not embarrassing to bring them up.
In the twilight of his life, legendary magician Ambrose Jenkins found himself unable to afford a Potion of Youth. The high elves—those damned beansprouts!—had jacked up prices again. To prolong his life, Ambrose had no other option than to become an undead, a lich.
