The 3 Wackiest MCs
Written by: Grace (awesomegchan)
Wacky is used to describe something or someone that is highly unusual, eccentric, or unpredictable, but in a lighthearted, amusing, or silly way. Some may find it a turn-off, but personally, I love characters that do shameless, unpredictable things because I find it so impressive and creative. I love anticipating their next moves, and it doesn’t even matter if I get it completely wrong since I’m just blown away by the author’s ability to make these characters come alive.
Personally, I think these three Wuxiaworld novels have the wackiest MCs ever because their reaction and decision-making is just next level.
If you guys haven’t read WLC yet, I HIGHLY recommend it if you enjoy light-hearted comedy. The author turns something that is supposed to be super serious, but concludes it in the most ridiculous way. I shall provide an example from the novel itself. In chapter 3, a bunch of participants were taken to the Illusionary Bamboo Forest where they would forget everything, including their identities and the trials. This was to test how they would respond with their most honest reactions.

“Hmm? Why did the axe fall into the river?” Lu Yang was puzzled, feeling like there was some strange force compelling him to drop the axe.
The River Spirit emerged once more, inquiring cordially, “Young man, I am the River Spirit. Which axe did you drop inside the water just now—this worn-out axe, this Mountain-Splitting Axe, which is a spirit artifact, or this Heaven-Splitting Axe, which is an immortal artifact?”
Lu Yang bent down, sweeping his gaze over the three different axes. Raising his head, he stared at the River Spirit pitifully, as if the latter was a fool. “Two of the axes belong to you. Don’t you know which axes you own? Why are you asking me instead?”
The River Spirit’s smile froze in place. Stumped for words, he could only follow Lu Yang’s rhythm. “I truly don’t know which two axes belong to me.”
Lu Yang eyed the River Spirit warily. “In that case, if I choose an axe, you are not going to suddenly recover your memory and tell me which two axes are yours, right?”
“Of course not,” the River Spirit vowed.
“Let me take a look at the three axes.”
The River Spirit passed the three axes to Lu Yang.
Lu Yang promptly tossed the axes into the river. “Alright, now ask me again.”
The River Spirit reflexively repeated, “Which axe did you drop inside the water just now—this worn-out axe, this Mountain-Splitting Axe, which is a spirit artifact, or this Heaven-Splitting Axe, which is an immortal artifact?”
A brilliant smile broke out on Lu Yang’s face. “I dropped all of them.”
The River Spirit, "..."
Gritting his teeth, he could only say, “What an honest young man. You may have all three axes.”

This novel is one of the newer launches that was just released in May. Chu Qiguang, similar to Lu Yang, is also always thinking outside the box and doing hilarious things. He transmigrates to a world where he enters into the weak body of a teenage boy, but encounters a cat fiend, Qiao Zhi, who teaches him how to cultivate and learn martial arts. Without further ado, here’s a snippet from chapter 14.

Qiao Zhi climbed onto Chu Qiguang’s shoulder, then continued, “You’ve had poor nutrition and no warm clothes your entire life, so your body is too weak. If you start practicing martial arts right away, you could easily harm your life force and ruin your foundation. So today, I’m going to use the Heavenly Fiend Foundation Establishment Technique to nourish your body and strengthen your foundation. Only then will you be able to make rapid progress and eventually reach the pinnacle of martial arts. Now come! Bite me!”
“What?”
Chu Qiguang stared at Qiao Zhi’s extended paw. The white fur around it had turned slightly yellow, and there was some dirt stuck to the pad.
“Do I really have to?” he asked reluctantly.
“My blood is needed to stimulate your bloodline,” Qiao Zhi explained. “How else are you going to draw my blood if you don’t bite me?”
Chu Qiguang hesitated for a moment before asking, “Can I ask which paw you normally use to bury your poop?”
“You think a cat of my status would bury my own poop? Of course I have my subordinates do it for me!” Qiao Zhi replied proudly.
Chu Qiguang let out a sigh of relief, then asked, “How hard do I need to bite?”
“Until you draw blood!” Qiao Zhi snapped.
At Qiao Zhi’s insistence, Chu Qiguang didn’t hesitate any longer and he bit down on the front paw held out toward him, instantly getting a mouthful of cat fur and dirt.
“Harder!”
Chu Qiguang did as he was told, and bit down with more force. The paw gave way between his teeth, and a spurt of blood rushed into his mouth. As the blood entered his body, waves of restless, burning-hot energy instantly spread through him, as if a fire had been lit inside him.
“Alright, that’s enough! A small sip is enough; there’s no need to drink so much.”

PULUO is one of the most unique novels that I’ve ever read in my life. If I had to recommend one novel on Wuxiaworld, I would honestly say this one. Every sentence and chapter enhances the story, and I have no idea what would happen next. The cultivation system and worldbuilding of this novel is unforgettable, phenomenal, immersive, and every character has a unique skill and ability that I can remember! It’s like Harry Potter with cultivation, as all those side characters in Harry Potter are distinctive and memorable and play a strong role throughout the novel.

He tricked me, lured me all the way here to Puluo. The dwelling spirit of this house trapped him and turned him into its prisoner. He brought me here to take his place!
Li Banfeng got out of bed and reached for the window, testing it carefully.
The window wouldn't budge.
Li Banfeng had already stepped into the paths of Homebound and Wanderlust Cultivators, so his strength was far greater than that of an ordinary person. Nonetheless, it was clear to him that he couldn't open this window. The dwelling spirit's power had sealed it shut.
If he couldn't leave through the window, what about the front door?
That impostor pretending to be He Jiaqing certainly wouldn't let Li Banfeng go. Even if he had to put his life on the line, he wouldn't allow Li Banfeng to leave.
Could I beat him in a fight?
That's hard to say. I probably can't beat him, but he probably isn't confident he can subdue me.
He's a Dark Ability User, and his cultivation level is obviously above mine. But he's trapped within the dwelling spirit's control, so he's likely restricted in some ways. Otherwise, he could've just tied me up and left me in the house until morning.
But even if I could defeat him, would I really be able to get out?
I can't open the window. It's likely I can't open the door either.
And what if that impostor and the dwelling spirit gang up on me? I wouldn't be able to fly out of this place even if I were given wings.
As he pondered this, Li Banfeng heard a familiar rustling, like something was crawling around.
He stepped out of the bedroom and found that the sound was coming from the bathroom.
Li Banfeng had heard it earlier when the calico cat was in the entrance hall. The sound was a cat's footsteps.
There's a way out.
Li Banfeng is kind of crazy, and thinks very differently from the norm. How do you think he will escape? If you want something unpredictable, unconventional, substantial, give The Overlord of Puluo a try!
