We do have a cheat system, so that is something to take notice of. It largely seems to be giving the MC rewards for going and fighting dangerous enemies. Otherwise, chapter one starts us with a cool fight scene, and we get more of them in the subsequent chapters, as they flesh out the world and character relationships. The setting is modern-ish, with some powerful martial artists, but guns and nukes seem to exist. The backdrop of the world doesn't seem to have analogues to real countries, instead two large empires, and some smaller countries to fill in the cracks. Hopefully this means we get to skip past nationalism. Either way, extremely promising, and looking forward to this every day now.

The Modern Martial Immortal
A human immortal is something greater. They stride through the void, ride the wind, wander the seas by dawn and stand upon the peaks by dusk. Detached from the mortal world, they feast on wind and drink dew, living long and carefree. This is humanity’s ultimate romance.
Are immortals merely fiction? Do they not exist in the real world? The Martial Dao defies the heavens and turns the impossible into reality. So if I wish to become a human immortal, to roam the seas at dawn and reach the peaks by night, what could be wrong with that?
Details
In a world where martial arts had long since reached their peak, humanity believed the limits of flesh and blood were already written. A martial grandmaster could shatter mountains, and a martial paragon could face an army alone. Yet such legends belonged only to history books.
Modern society marched on with technology, laws, and politics… until daemons crawled out of the shadows and ancient powers resurfaced.
Reborn with a sharper mind and a sliver of knowledge from the future, Su Yaoguang steps into this world standing between reason and myth. What began as a simple desire for safety, to strengthen his body and extend his lifespan, gradually grows into something far greater.
To become a human immortal, free, eternal, and unbound by heaven or earth.

I do not recommend this novel, it is like many other korean novels which just fits into the category of: Fast-food novel
Everything happens at a fast pace, the cultivation system in this novel is incredibly poorly explained even if it's early in the novel there's barely any info for the reader. Most characters who is mentioned by name is irrelevant a few chapters later. The world-building is 2/10 id say, close to nothing except for explaining for powerful this or that family/faction is, not really all that interesting.
Also, the way the author has decided to write this novel i really couldn't care less if the MC lives or dies, sure, he does a great feat by killing these monsters, but hes just a 1-dimensional character with nothing interesting about him except for the mysterious "thing" which let's him advance super fast, and that's another point which makes this rather boring: In the 43 chapters i read, he never once trained in anything, he just gets stuff handed to him and he immediately already mastered it.
If you just want to read another superman story where the MC is pretty much never going to be at a disadvantage, read this.
